Leadership Coaching and Mentoring
What is my approach?
I offer an approach of leadership coaching and mentoring that intersects leadership, vocation, and spirituality. It is a coaching model that is not a ‘prescribed’ set of objectives – nor is it something I teach you. It is an ongoing conversation between us where you determine your unique leadership plan and objectives for who you are and your specific context. Rather than provide answers, I ask questions to draw out what is already in you.
What does a session look like?
During a coaching and mentoring session, I assist you to solve your own problems, reach your goals, and develop leadership skills in the process. There will be some very clear objectives and measurable changes in your leadership character and practice, as well as tangible accountability indicators that will affect your growth. The direct relationship between your leadership and spiritual life is explored. I ask questions and together we lean into the spiritual aspect of your life as it relates to your leadership.
What does a leadership plan look like?
A leadership plan is developed through the discernment of needed and desired areas of growth. A Growth Area Plan is then created.
What does a Growth Area Plan look like?
The creation of a Growth Area works like this:
• Vision: Think about an aspect of leadership that would make a significant impact in your life if you were to be able to become so much better at it. What difference will it make if you were to grow in this area of leadership?
• Intentionality: What are you prepared to do in order to make that growth happen? How committed are you to seeing it through to making a real change in the way you lead? What sacrifices are you willing to make in order to grow in that area?
• Means: Begin discovering what materials are available to help you grow in this area? Where will you discover what you need to learn? Are there people, courses, videos, books, articles or experiences that would help you to develop in that area?
Why would you participate in a coaching relationship?
A successful coaching relationship will guide you to become skilled in your leadership practice, become adequately knowledgeable about your responsibilities and contribution, and you will grow your own faith and spiritual life.
What are examples of growth areas?
I have mentored and coached leaders regarding delegation, mentoring and development of their team, conflict resolution, difficult personalities on a team, leadership transition, partnership development, crisis management, personal spiritual rhythms, work and home balance, and self-care.
How often do we meet?
It works best to meet every 2 weeks for an hour with a commitment of at least 6 months, most likely longer.
Fees
The initial session is to explore what a leadership coaching and mentoring relationship between us might look like and is no charge.
Subsequent sessions are at a rate of $85 per session.
If necessary, a sliding scale between $60 and $85 is used to fit the need of the client.
If finances are an issue, please do not hesitate to speak to me about it. I do not want financial concerns to prohibit the gift and graces that leadership coaching and mentoring offers.
